My Approach

I enjoy working with people around identity issues. For some clients this may be coming out as an artist after a career in law. For other clients, this may be reconciling a conflict between religious and sexual identities. I have a particular passion for LGBTQ+ clients and experience working with non-traditional relationships.

Individual Therapy

Many of my individual clients are insight-oriented and seek help uncovering the conscious and unconscious habits and patterns that are no longer serving them. Beginning clients typically meet weekly for 50 minutes, while some longer term clients meet less frequently depending upon their therapeutic goals. For individuals, I use an integrative approach combining psychodynamic, interpersonal, humanitarian, mindfulness and cognitive behavioral perspectives.

Couples Relationship Therapy

If you are here for relationship therapy, your relationship is the client. I have experience working with couples navigating the coupling and the uncoupling process, as well as those seeking non-traditional arrangements, such as ethical non-monogamy or polyamory. In Relationship Therapy, I draw upon psychodynamic theories, family attachment styles and patterns, and the development stage of your relationship to help navigate and uncover the patterns that cause challenges. Sessions are typically 50 minutes with occasional 80 minute sessions when appropriate.

Insurance & Fees

I am an out-of-network provider and do not participate with any insurance company directly. Upon request, I will email statements that contain all the necessary information in order for you to submit the receipt to your insurance company if you are seeking reimbursement.

For those wishing to be reimbursed by their insurance, the following questions will help you determine your benefits:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits?

  • If so, what percentage is covered?

  • Do I have a deductible?

  • How do I submit a request for reimbursement?

  • What is the reimbursement for CPT code 90834 and 90837?

  • Is there a different reimbursement rate for in-person vs. tele-therapy appointments?

My rate is $180 for a 50-minute, individual session, and $200 for a 50-minute Relationship Therapy session. Longer sessions are pro-rated, and there is not a rate difference between in-person and tele-health sessions. Payment is due at the end of each session.
